A kettlebell, some herbs and good Ol’ Chicken

A cup of coffee with some milk and some dark chocolate nibbles after a real hearty wholesome lunch is such a simple enjoyment when you have spent the morning hours doing a real good session at the gym and everything just went smooth as silk in there.

For today’s lunch I ventured away from my usual oven-baked chicken breast fillets which frankly, I’m a bit sick of at the moment – for chicken breast simmered in light cooking cream and crushed tomatoes with oregano and basil with plenty of garlic paste and some chilli & garlic chutney from Neal’s Yard.

The result? Amazing!

Recipe

  • 500 grams Chicken Breast diced
  • Oregano, basil, garlic paste, pepper, salt, chilli chutney, Heinz chilli ketchup
  • Light cooking cream 4% Fat
  • Crushed tomatoes

Quickly frying the chicken dices with salt, pepper and the garlic paste with some coconut oil and then add the tomatoes and cream and let it simmer/cook whilst adding herbs and any other spices you might want to use.

I served had this with some rice and brown sour-dough bread which I dipped the life out in the sauce and some salad.

A really good meal if you ask me and the nutrients are roughly:

  • Protein – 114 grams
  • Carbohydrates – 110 grams
  • Fat – 25 grams

and the session of today went as said SO smooth!

  • 2 Egg whites

    • 60 kg x 8 reps
    • 80 kg x 6 reps
    • 110 kg x 1 reps
    • 120 kg x 4 reps
    • 110 kg x 8 reps
  • Wide-Grip Chin-Up:
    • 16 reps
    • 9 reps
    • Technique felt good with a pause between every rep in the bottom
  • One-Arm Kettlebell Swing:
    • 10 kg x 8 reps
    • 10 kg x 8 reps
    • 14 kg x 10 reps
    • 14 kg x 10 reps
    • 16 kg x 10 reps
    • 16 kg x 10 reps
  • Dips – Triceps Version:
    • 9 reps || weighted || 25 kg
    • 15 reps
    • Bit wider bars in the gym here in Sweden compared to the UK
  • Box Jumps:
    • 6 jumps || 70 cm
    • 6 jumps || 70 cm

    Så jäkla sant! Som den skiftesarbetare jag är så finns det knappt något bättre än när jag kört färdigt mina morgon pass på gymmet, sitter på balkongen med en kopp kaffe, lite mörk chili choklad och bara inväntar arbetsdagen på eftermiddagen.

    Det låter så klyschigt men den känslan är svårslagen, man blir fullkomligt nöjd med sig själv :)
