Trying to cook with macros, doing it correctly.

May 26, 2013

Everyone who’s involved in fitness and training for a better, healthier and more efficient you have at some point been sitting there in the sofa, craving those comfort foods.

And as you may know, these types of foods may not be the most optimal ones to munch one depending what kind of fitness goals you have in the back of your mind.

You could deprive yourself, eat whatever you’d like and just continue training and be happy or try cook something that gives you the comfort food feeling, meet your macro nutrient goals and actually tastes good!

This is Meatza!

This Meatza is made out of ground turkey thigh which I just seasoned with garlic and all kinds of different herbs and some chilli & lime too, following the following pictures you can see that I:

Create a base of meat in something oven-safe, flatten it out like a regular pizza dough and shove it into the oven at 175’C for 10-15 minutes.

Does not really look like “diet” food if you ask me..

Take it out, smash some tomato purée concentrate on and top with CHEESE (of out most importance) and then whatever you feel for. Just remember that toppings with a lot of water can moisten the meat base which will erase the possibility to eat this dish as a regular pizza… (sad face)

Remember

As most people kind of go into some sort of mind-set that they are depriving themselves from food just because “They are on a diet” or think they cannot eat anything else than Tuna, egg whites and Whey protein powder whilst on a diet. Please re-think, to eat on a calorie deficit should not be hard, making you feel ravenously hungry or something like that.

You should be able to cook foods that actually fill you up until you just want to vomit, you just have to be smart on how and what you cook!

Put it into the oven for 10-15 minutes, take it out and add the desired toppings!
